About Me

Hi, I’m Francisco D’Hoore. I’m a lover of psychology and a passionate student of life. 

My life purpose is to inspire and empower people to live to their greatest potential. Fundamental for this, is that being is more fun when standing on the shoulders of awareness and self-compassion.

Before becoming a psychologist, my work experience ranged from Marketing through Product & Account Management in national and international IT and web analytic projects. My multilingual skills helped me build international experience across different industries which include banking, media, productivity, finance, accountancy, and pharmaceutical.

Although successful and wining different sales trophies, I regularly came home feeling depressed, knowing I was not living my life purpose. I didn't really know what I really wanted for myself. It took me a while, but...

With the support of believers and non-believers, I started at the age of 30 a Master in Psychology at the Free University of Brussels. Blood, sweat and tears brought me to my Master. After that I specialized in the field of clinical psychology, sports psychology, trauma psychology, and coaching.

​

Today I practice face-to-face clinical psychotherapy in my private practice in the north of Brussels, Meise, or worldwide through Zoom. Burn-out, anxiety, addictions, relational problems, helping students find their calling, … are just a mere enumeration of the problems you tackle in a solution-oriented way, I will be happy to guide you in this.

In sports I guide national and international high-level sports talents and their teams to grow personal leadership to achieve their optimal performance. My preferred sport is soccer, but hey, every sportsman and sportswoman with ambition is welcome!
I have mental coaching experience in academy and first team context in soccer clubs (i.e. Club Brugge, KV Mechelen, RWDM, ..). I coach individual players on demand of them, their agent or club (i.e., Red Devils, Red Flames, AS Monaco, Benfica Lissabon, Leicester City, Antwerp FC, Cercle Brugge, ...). I have experience in national competition and international tournaments context (i.e., World Cup 2018, EURO 2020, Nations League, Champions League, Women’s Champions League, …) for individual players or teams.

 

In 2015 I developed interest towards organizational health in businesses, in particular trauma and labor stress in organizations. During the last 8 years I screen, empower, and support NATO civilian employees deployed to conflict zones. In august ’21, I debriefed, at the NATO headquarters in Brussels, the civilian teams evacuated from Kabul, Afghanistan. April to march ’22, I provided individual support and team sessions about trauma, stress and coping strategies for the employees confronted daily with the atrocities of the war in Ukraine.

As you can read in my intro, I like to dive into the remarkable and ever evolving world of psychology. Since the pandemic my attention is also attracted by non-ordinary states of consciousness. Psychedelic-assisted therapy and holotropic breathwork utilize the remarkable healing and transformative potential of non-ordinary states of consciousness. At this moment MDMA is studied worldwide as a treatment for alcoholism and PTSD. Results are promising, with participants reporting MDMA effects of profound significance. Psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy could be effective for treatment-resistant depression, treating nicotine addiction, and it may hold promise for a range of other conditions and disorders, including anorexia, substance use disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorders.  As psychedelic-assisted therapy is not yet legal in Belgium, I can always lighten you up on psychonauting with full dosing or microdosing psychedelics.

Finally.. for now.., I’m also following the movement of intermittent living and exposure to the cold.

​

Notice I didn't tell you about my childhood trauma's and frustrations or about my difficulties in life in general. Of course I had and have them. Like all of us. I prefer to talk about myself with my therapist and when I don't want to talk, I go to my brainspotting therapist. This helps me to be completely present for you.
